North Sheridan Lake Road Closure
RAPID CITY, S.D. – Construction for Phase 1 of the Jackson Boulevard reconstruction project in Rapid City will begin Sunday, April 1.
During construction, Sheridan Lake Road will be closed from the Jackson Boulevard intersection, north to the south parking lot entrance of Story Book Island, about 800 feet.
Detour routes will be in place to guide traffic around the closed portion of Sheridan Lake Road.
Access to Sheridan Lake Road north of the Jackson Boulevard intersection will be as follows:
- Traffic traveling east on Jackson Boulevard should use 32nd Street to Canyon Lake Drive
- Traffic traveling west on Jackson Boulevard should use North Mt. View Road to Canyon Lake Drive
On May 25, 2012, Sheridan Lake Road will be re-opened to traffic with a single lane in each direction. All lanes on Sheridan Lake Road will be open on June 30, 2012.
Residents of June Court and businesses within the Creekside business complex should expect periodic water and sewer shutdowns during this phase of construction. Advance notice and specific details will be provided prior to each shutdown.
In addition to the Sheridan Lake Road closure, portions of the Creekside parking Lot will be closed to construct the sanitary sewer main. More details will be provided separately to affected businesses.
Access for local traffic to June Court and the Creekside businesses will also be maintained throughout the closure.
