SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - TCF Bank officially opened the doors today at its operations center on West 38th Street in Sioux Falls.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard, company representatives and local officials were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening.

“It is great news that TCF Bank is expanding in South Dakota,” Gov. Daugaard said. “TCF’s decision to invest in our state is testament to our growing financial services industry, and it’s a trend I’m pleased to see.”

In 2009, TCF Bank relocated its charter from Minnesota to South Dakota and established a retail bank in Sioux Falls.

The bank purchased and renovated an existing building late last year on West 38th Street and began operations in the new facility in early February. There are currently 135 employees at the operations center, and TCF Bank projects that number to reach 200 by year’s end.

“We were looking to expand our footprint in South Dakota,” said Earl Stratton, TCF Chief Operations Officer. “When we took a look at South Dakota’s talented and educated workforce, as well as available space, it was obvious that South Dakota was a great fit for us.”

TCF Bank received a $200,000 matching grant from the Workforce Development Program in the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The funds will be used to train up to 200 employees. The company is looking primarily for inbound call-center associates and managers and operations support associates. Individuals interested in applying should visit www.tcfbank.com or www.sdjobs.org
