Construction on Highway 11 and 57^th Street in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that reconstruction of state Highway 11 and also 57^th Street in Sioux Falls will begin on Monday, July 16.

The work on Highway 11 will include shoulder widening, adding a center turn lane, asphalt surfacing, and pavement marking. The project boundaries are from 57^th Street to south of 69^th Street. Traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers and pilot car through the work area.

57^th Street construction will include grading, storm sewer, water main, concrete surfacing, lighting and pavement marking in the westbound lanes of 57^th Street from Highway 11 to Sycamore Avenue. 57^th Street will be closed during construction, and traffic will be detoured to Sycamore Avenue and 41^st Street.

Access will be maintained for local residents and businesses. Access to Harmodon Park will be maintained via 41^st Street and Highway 11.

The project is anticipated to be done by late November.

The prime contractor is D&G Concrete Construction Inc. of Sioux Falls.
