Construction on Highway 11 and 57th Street in Sioux Falls

 

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that reconstruction of state Highway 11 and also 57th Street in Sioux Falls will begin on Monday, July 16.

 

The work on Highway 11 will include shoulder widening, adding a center turn lane, asphalt surfacing, and pavement marking. The project boundaries are from 57th Street to south of 69th Street. Traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers and pilot car through the work area.

 

57th Street construction will include grading, storm sewer, water main, concrete surfacing, lighting and pavement marking in the westbound lanes of 57th Street from Highway 11 to Sycamore Avenue. 57th Street will be closed during construction, and traffic will be detoured to Sycamore Avenue and 41st Street.

 

Access will be maintained for local residents and businesses. Access to Harmodon Park will be maintained via 41st Street and Highway 11.

 

The project is anticipated to be done by late November.

 

The prime contractor is D&G Concrete Construction Inc. of Sioux Falls.
