Kick Off The School Year With South Dakota’s Largest Classroom
HURON, S.D. – Teachers and students from across the state are invited to participate in the South Dakota’s Largest Classroom on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 30-31, at the South Dakota State Fair.
This educational program gives students an opportunity to experience things they may not otherwise have a chance to see in a regular classroom environment.
While attending South Dakota’s Largest Classroom, students will see many activities and exhibits, including the New Riders of the Golden Age Full Armored Jousting Show, Vogel’s Exotic Animal Petting Zoo sponsored by American Bank and Trust, The Bubble Show, the FFA Animal Nursery, a one-room schoolhouse, the Dakotaland Museum, and 4-H and open class exhibits.
Teachers and students are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Students who are home-schooled are also encouraged to register. Last year, 865 students and teachers from 32 schools attended. The program is free to students, teachers and chaperones. Lunch and parking will also be provided. The registration form can be obtained by calling 605-353-7354.
The South Dakota’s Largest Classroom is sponsored by Wells Fargo, Dakota Provisions, the South Dakota Education Association, Sara Lee, Old Dutch and Pepsi.
