            Names Released in Lincoln County Fatal Crash

What: Two-vehicle fatal crash

When: Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, 6 a.m.

Where: Interstate 29 mile marker 65, near Worthing, SD

Driver 1: Seth Joseph Kroger, 20, Canton, SD, fatal

Vehicle 1: Pontiac Grand Am

Driver 2: John Tay Pho, 26, Sioux Falls, SD, serious non-life threatening injuries

Passenger 1: Juong Thimai Nguyen, 26, Sioux Falls, SD, serious non-life threatening injuries

Vehicle 2: Buick Century

WORTHING, S.D. – A Canton man died and two other people received serious injuries in a head-on crash on Interstate 29 near Worthing on Saturday, Aug. 25.

Seth Joseph Kroger, 20, was killed when the Pontiac Grand Am he was driving collided head-on with a Buick Century driven by John Tay Pho, 26, of Sioux Falls. Kroger was traveling north in the southbound lane of Interstate 29. Pho was driving south.

Kroger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was dead at the scene. Pho and a passenger in the Buick, Juong Thimai Nguyen, 26, of Sioux Falls, were wearing seatbelts. They were taken to a Sioux Falls hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. No further information is immediately available.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office, Canton Police Department, Worthing Fire and Ambulance, Lennox Ambulance, Canton Fire Department and South Dakota Transportation Department assisted.
