              Union County (Milepost 35) Fatal Crash

What: One-vehicle fatal crash

When: Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, 7:40 a.m.

Where: Interstate 29 mile marker 35, 12 miles south of Beresford, SD, exit

Driver: Tonya Marie Anderson, 38, Akron, IA, fatal

Vehicle: 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

BERESFORD, S.D. – An Iowa woman died in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 29 about 12 miles south of Beresford on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Tonya Marie Anderson, 38, of Akron, Iowa, was driving north in a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado when the vehicle went out of control. The roadway was slippery from freezing drizzle. The vehicle entered the median and rolled. Anderson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle and received fatal injuries.

No further information is immediately available.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Union County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
