    Highway 18 Road Work between Edgemont and Hot Springs

CUSTER, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Transportation has begun work on U.S. Highway 18 between Edgemont and Hot Springs. 

The project is located between mile markers 12 and 33. The work involves climbing lane modifications and surfacing improvements with an asphalt overlay of the roadway.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with periodic delays possible. A pilot car will guide traffic through the construction zone. Minor bumps will occur between lifts of asphalt surfacing. The bumps will be signed appropriately to provide advanced warning.

The prime contractor on this $8,309,390 project is Border States Paving of Fargo, N.D.

The overall completion date is Oct. 12, 2013.
