Missing State Prison Inmate

(Sioux Falls, S.D.)- The Department of Corrections is searching for a state prison inmate who walked away from Unit C, the minimum-security unit of the Jameson Annex to the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls.

Inmate Davis Bull Bear was last seen at Unit C on the evening of July 30. He is a 19-year old Native American with black hair brown eyes. He is 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds.

Bull Bear is serving a 5 year sentence for 3rd Degree Burglary out of Bennett County.     

Anyone who sees Bull Bear or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement immediately.

The minimum-security units across the state house an average of more than 1,000 inmates daily. Unit C currently houses 288 inmates. Between 2,000 and 2,500 inmates are processed through the minimum-security units each year.
