         Lyman County Fatal Crash

 

What: Two-vehicle fatal crash

Where: Interstate 90, mile marker 214, 13 miles west of Presho, SD

When: Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, 8:40 a.m.

 

Driver 1: Jean Ann Sieh, 58, Gregory, SD, fatal

Passenger 1: Sarah Jean Sieh, 17, Gregory, SD, serious non-life threatening injuries

Vehicle 1: 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

 

Driver 2: Gerald Lynn Tyburec, 67, Winner, SD, no injuries

Passenger 1: Joy Lynn Tyburec, 57, Winner, SD, no injuries

Vehicle 2: 2010 Ford F-150 pickup

 

PRESHO, S.D. – A Gregory, S.D., woman died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 about 13 miles west of Presho on Friday, Nov. 29.

 

Jean Ann Sieh, 58, was westbound driving a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer. She lost control of the vehicle on a frost-covered interstate bridge and her vehicle struck the right rear of a passing 2010 Ford F-150 pickup. Sieh’s vehicle skidded into the north ditch and rolled.

 

Sieh received fatal injuries in the crash. A passenger, Sarah Jean Sieh, 17, of Gregory, received serious injuries. She was taken to a Pierre hospital and then transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital.

 

Gerald Lynn Tyburec, 67, of Winner, S.D., driver of the pickup, was not injured. Neither was his passenger, Joy Lynn Tyburec, 57, also of Winner.

 

All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts. No further information is immediately available.

 

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Lyman County Sheriff’s Office, Jones County Sheriff’s Office, Lyman County Ambulance, Lyman Fire and Rescue and Presho Fire Department assisted.
