Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s Public Commitments; Public Meetings:
Tuesday, June 3, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. MDT, Rapid City – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will be hosting a Workforce Summit at the Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn, 505 N. Fifth St. The Summit will engage state, community, business and education leaders about South Dakota’s workforce challenges and opportunities through panel discussions and breakout groups. It will provide a forum to discuss current programs, learn about workforce demographic trends and offer feedback on potential future strategies. The Summit is free and open to the public. Friday, June 6, 9 – 10 a.m. CDT, Vermillion – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the Girls State Convention in Vermillion.

Thursday, June 5, to Friday, June 6, Yankton – Beginning June 5 at 1 p.m. CDT, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks’ (GFP) Commission will meet at Grand Lodge in the Lewis and Clark Resort Area near Yankton. A public hearing will begin at 2 p.m. CDT discussing the finalizations of last month’s meeting. The GFP Commission serves as the advocate and liaison between the department and its stakeholders – the people of South Dakota. The Commission meets monthly (except for February and September) and consists of eight members; which are appointed by the Governor for four year terms.
