Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s Public Commitments; Public Meetings:

 

Wednesday, Aug. 6, 9 a.m. MDT, Deadwood, The Lodge – Lt. Gov. Matt Michels will speak at the Sturgis Hall of Fame Breakfast at the Lodge in Deadwood.

 

Thursday, Aug. 7, to Friday, Aug. 8 Beginning Aug. 7 at 1 p.m. CDT, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks’ (GFP) Commission will meet at the Holiday Inn Express in Fort Pierre. A public hearing will begin at 2 p.m. CDT discussing the finalizations of last month’s meeting. The GFP Commission serves as the advocate and liaison between the department and its stakeholders - the people of South Dakota. The Commission meets monthly (except for February and September) and consists of eight members; which are appointed by the Governor for four year terms. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, 11 a.m. CDT A building committee of the South Dakota Board of Regents will meet by teleconference to discuss bids for the Northern State University Johnson Fine Arts Center Addition and Renovation. Tuesday, Aug. 5, to Wednesday, Aug. 6 – The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation will host Job Search Assistance Programs (JSAP). JSAP is a workshop for people recovering from job loss or enhancing their job search skills. Trained instructors speak on modern-day techniques used to successfully find employment. Topics covered are: resume and cover letter writing, interviewing etiquette, networking effectively, using social media and much more. JSAP will be offered at the following locations:

Grange Ave. The job fair is for Veterans of all military branches, those transitioning from active duty and spouses of military service members.
