State Fair to Host Free Concerts and Entertainment

HURON, S.D. – Each year the State Fair hosts a variety of free entertainment. During the five day run, attendees can find six stages of various events around the fairgrounds free with paid gate admission.

Saturday, catch the Snake Oil Sinners and their interactive rock show with the music of Queen, Journey, Def Leppard and more. Sunday, you can laugh with South Dakota natives, Williams and Ree, the self-professed “Indian and White Guy” who have been entertaining audiences around the world with their comedy and musical style for over 30 years. On Monday, relive the last days of summer with Kahuna Beach Party, a musical celebration of the Beach Boys and tribute to the early 1960’s.

The Kidz Science Safari is a must stop for kids and adults alike. With 14 hands-on science exhibits, this interactive travelling museum combines learning and fun for children ages four and up.

New to the fair this year is the Royal White Tiger Discovery Exhibit, sponsored by American Bank and Trust. The exhibit will be open daily with special shows throughout each day, including feeding times, conservation talks and public participation. It’s a great opportunity to see these magnificent animals up close.
