American Bank & Trust Invests in 4-H Youth and the Huron Region

HURON, S.D.-American Bank & Trust was recently recognized for providing a gift of $50,000 to the South Dakota State Fair Foundation toward its “Building a Showcase for 4-H, Youth, and Community” capital campaign. The campaign is raising funds to build a new fairgrounds exhibit hall.

“4-H has long been a vitally important part of the South Dakota State Fair and provides wonderful experiences for South Dakota’s young citizens. We see this being the case far into South Dakota’s future, and this building project is a way to help ensure that future. American Bank & Trust is pleased to make this financial commitment toward 4-H,” said Lynn Schneider, CEO of American Bank & Trust.

State Fair Manager Jerome Hertel commented, “We have been so pleased with the local support from the Huron area for the new exhibit hall. Today, we add another significant gift to that long list.  We thank American Bank & Trust for their investment in the future of our region, in 4-H and in the State Fair.”

When built, the 49,000 square-foot Nordby Exhibit Hall for 4-H, Youth and Community will feature more than 30,000 square feet of exhibit space, multiple classrooms, a large kitchen for 4-H Special Foods competitions and a performance stage for the many 4-H activities that will take place there year-round.

The Foundation has raised nearly $3.3 million of its $4 million goal. Those interested in supporting the Capital Campaign should contact the State Fair office at 605-274-3370 or visit www.sdstatefairfoundation.com.
