Roberts County Fatal Crash
What: Two Vehicle Fatal Crash
Where: S.D. Highway 15, three miles east of Wilmot, S.D.
When: Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, 2:02 p.m.
Driver 1: Stanley Pew, 87, Milbank, S.D., fatal
Vehicle 1: 2003 Buick LeSabre
Driver 2: Timothy James Renelt, 40, Wilmot, S.D., no injuries
Vehicle 2: 1997 Peterbilt 385 Semi-truck with trailer
WILMOT, S.D. – A Milbank, S.D., man died in a two vehicle crash on Wednesday, Oct., 29 three miles east of Wilmot.
Stanley Pew, 87, of Milbank, was driving a 2003 Buick LeSabre west on S.D. Highway 15 and approaching the intersection with 470th Ave. Timothy James Renelt, 40, of Wilmot was driving a 1997 Peterbilt 385 semi-truck with trailer north on 470th Ave. Renelt failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the driver’s side of Pew’s vehicle. Pew sustained fatal injuries in the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt. Renelt was not injured in the crash and was not wearing a seatbelt.
No further information is immediately available.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Roberts County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
