Huey Lewis and the News Joins SD State Fair Concert Lineup
HURON, S.D. –The South Dakota State Fair announces Huey Lewis and the News will perform at the Fair Grandstand on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015.
Huey Lewis and the News is one of America’s great rock and roll bands, outlasting numerous musical trends while still remaining fresh. With numerous top 10 hits such as “Heart of Rock & Roll,” “I Want a New Drug,” “The Power of Love” and “Workin’ for a Livin,” Huey Lewis and the News has left their mark on music history.
Front man Huey Lewis has an unmistakable voice with rich, textured qualities that lends itself well not just to their own hits, but also the variety of other songs featured in their live shows. Audiences are always delighted to hear Huey Lewis and the News’ a cappella renditions of rock ‘n’ roll classics like “It’s Alright” and “Do You Believe in Love.”
“Huey Lewis and the News completes our concert line-up for the 2015 State Fair,” said State Fair manager, Peggy Besch. “This group has a great list of hits so we expect to see a great and fun show!”
Huey Lewis and the News joins Kenny Rogers, John Conlee, The Band Perry welcomed by Legend Seeds, Red Wilk Construction CBR Bull Bash and monster trucks at the State Fair Grandstand.
A pre-sale on tickets begins June 15 for backrest holders followed by Friends of the Fair pre-sale on June 18. General public ticket sales begin June 22. Ticket prices can be found online at www.sdstatefair.com.
The 2015 South Dakota State Fair will run from Thursday, Sept. 3, through Monday, Sept. 7. Channel Seeds preview night will be Wednesday, Sept. 2. This year’s theme is “Sew it. Grow it.
