Multi Agency Resource Center Opens in Delmont
PIERRE, S.D. – A one stop site opens Thursday in Delmont for citizens who need tornado recovery assistance.
The Multi Agency Resource Center (MARC) will be opened from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the basement of the Delmont American Legion, which is located on Main Street.
Representatives of several organizations will be on hand to provide help on specific issues. Those groups include:
*** Disabled American Veterans (DAV): Disaster relief grants for veterans;
*** South Dakota Department of Social Services (DSS): Offering assistance to citizens already on programs such as SNAP, Adult Services, etc.;
*** South Dakota Department of Revenue (DOR): Assistance to homeowners regarding licensed contractors;
*** South Dakota Housing and Planning District III: Assistance for short term/long term housing, rebuilding questions;
*** South Dakota Division of Insurance: Assistance with insurance questions; and,
*** Mental Health: Area agencies will offer onsite counseling services and answer questions.
Volunteer organizations assisting in the recovery and which will be at the center are Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota, American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
More agencies may be added in the future.
