Summer Truck and Trailer Raffles to Benefit Exhibit Hall

Iverson Chrysler of Huron and Mitchell has donated a 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Express pick-up and a 2015 Featherlite Stock Combo trailer to the South Dakota State Fair Foundation for two summer raffles to raise funds for the Nordby Exhibit Hall for 4-H, Youth, and Community.

Additional prizes for runner-up winners have been provided by Huron Continental Marketing, Logan Luxury Theatres, and Runnings of Huron.

Multiple locations are offering tickets for sale, including local 4-H offices and livestock auction markets.  Additionally, tickets are available at the Huron and Mitchell Chamber offices, Greater Huron Development Corporation, Thunderbird Liquor Lounge and Casino, and the branches of the following financial organizations:  Farmers and Merchants Bank, American Bank and Trust, CorTrust Bank, Dakotaland Federal Credit Union.  Tickets can also be obtained online at iversonchrysler.com.  Three truck tickets are available for $100; one for $50.  The trailer raffle is $50 for three tickets; $25 for one.

The drawings will be held Sunday, Sept. 6 at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron during the 4-H Leaders’ Association’s Barbecue.  Winner need not be present to win, and becomes the permanent owner of the prize.  Must be 18.

Over the past several months, the South Dakota State Fair Foundation has been carrying out a capital campaign for the exhibit hall, which will be a statewide home for South Dakota 4-H, something not currently available for 4-H members.  The building will be constructed on the site that once featured Clover Hall.

The exhibit hall’s construction will begin soon.  When built, the 48,000 square-foot Nordby Exhibit Hall for 4-H, Youth, and Community will feature more than 30,000 square feet of exhibit space, multiple classrooms and a large kitchen for 4-H Special Foods competitions. A performance stage will be constructed for the many 4-H activities, community and regional events that will take place in this building year-round.

John Iverson, owner of Iverson Chrysler, states, “Everyone’s objective is to make the Nordby Exhibit Hall a resounding success, and this raffle allows EVERYONE to join in and contribute to the education of our future leaders, while experiencing the anticipation of winning a Ram Truck, Featherlite trailer and other prizes generously contributed by Huron Continental Marketing, Logan Theatres and the good folks at Runnings.”

Iverson Chrysler is a locally-owned, community-minded business that has been in the Mitchell area for more than 60 years.  A new location recently opened in Huron.  The business provides Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Jeep vehicles, as well as trailers and used vehicles.

To date, the South Dakota State Fair Foundation has raised $3.9 million of its $4.7 million goal.  Those interested in supporting the Capital Campaign are invited to contact the State Fair Foundation at 605-553-4251 or visit www.sdstatefairfoundation.com.
