The first of four public hearings will be held on proposed career and technical education standards in several career clusters. The board will also consider proposed changes to administrative rules related to the following topics: credits earned during the summer term, career and technical education endorsements, end-of-course exams, and the public school accountability system. Gov. Dennis Daugaard issued an executive order calling for the establishment of this council. Council members are working to identify strategies for improving achievement and graduation rates among South Dakota’s Native American students and will report findings to the Legislature and the Governor by Dec. 1, 2015.
