Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s Public Commitments; Public Meetings:
Monday, Dec. 7, 11 a.m. CST, Pierre, Capitol Lake – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the Wreath Laying Ceremony in Pierre on Monday. The ceremony will take place at the Capitol Lake Veterans Memorial.
Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1 p.m. CST, Pierre, Capitol Building – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will give the annual budget address in the state House Chamber. South Dakota Public Broadcasting will broadcast the speech live on SDPB1 TV, SDPB Radio and SDPB.org. The budget address will re-air on SDPB1 TV at 10 p.m. CST and be archived on SDPB’s website.
Wednesday, Dec. 9, 11:30 a.m. MST, Rapid City, Civic Center – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak about his proposed budget at the Rapid City Chamber Luncheon. Reporters planning to attend should RSVP to rsvp@rapidcitychamber.com.

Thursday, Dec. 10, Frederick – First Lady Linda Daugaard will visit third-, fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade classrooms at the Frederick Area School to read to students as part of her literacy initiative. Mrs. Daugaard will also use the visits to recycle gently-used books. She plans to collect and drop off donated books with each participating classroom.

Thursday, Dec. 10, to Friday, Dec. 11, Pierre – Beginning Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. CST, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks’ (GFP) Commission will meet at the Red Rossa Convention Room in Pierre. A public hearing will begin at 2 p.m. CST discussing the finalizations of November’s meeting. The GFP Commission serves as the advocate and liaison between the department and its stakeholders – the people of South Dakota. The Commission meets monthly (except for February and September) and consists of eight members; which are appointed by the Governor for four year terms.
