Saturday, July 2, 2 p.m. MDT, Rapid City, Civic Center A welcome home ceremony will be held for over 150 Soldiers of the South Dakota Army National Guard’s 155th Engineer Company on Saturday, July 2, at 2 p.m. MDT at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center’s Barnett Arena in Rapid City. The Rapid City and Wagner-based are returning home after a 10-month deployment to Kuwait. Planned speakers for the ceremony include Gov. Dennis Daugaard, U.S. Senators John Thune and Mike Rounds, U.S. Representative Kristi Noem, Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender and Maj. Gen. Tim Reisch, the adjutant general of the SDNG. Thursday, July 7, to Friday, July 8 – Beginning July 7 at 1 p.m. CDT, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks’ (GFP) Commission will meet at the RedRossa Convention Center in Pierre. The GFP Commission serves as the advocate and liaison between the department and its stakeholders – the people of South Dakota. The Commission meets monthly (except for February and September) and consists of eight members; who are appointed by the Governor for four year terms.
