Name Released In Davison County Fatal Crash

 

What: One-vehicle crash

Where:  264th Street and 412th Avenue, two miles east of Ethan, S.D.

When: 6:20 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2016

 

Driver: Cassandra Wherley, 25, Ethan, S.D., Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2002 Buick Century

 

ETHAN, S.D. – Cassandra Wherley, 25, of Ethan, S.D., has been identified as the person who died Sunday night in a one-vehicle crash near Ethan.

 

A 2002 Buick Century was traveling on 264th Street near the 412th Avenue intersection. Wherley, who was the driver and only occupant, lost control as the vehicle crossed the intersection.

 

The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled. Wherley, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were the Davison County Sheriff’s Office, Hanson County Sheriff’s Office, Hanson County Emergency Management, Ethan Fire Department and Mitchell Ambulance Service.
