Sunday Injury Crashes

 

At 9:35 a.m., U.S. Highway 385, mile marker 111, 10 miles south of Deadwood: Bradley Childs, 62, Scottsbluff, NE, was driving a motorcycle south when he hit a deer. Chiolds sustained serious non-life threatening injuries. He was wearing a helmet.

 

At 9:54 a.m., Sheridan Lake Road, mile marker 13, 13 miles west of Rapid City: William Tines, 68, New Underwood, S.D., was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee east on Sheridan Lake Road. A westbound motorcycle came around a curve, went across the center lane and hit the jeep. Tines, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured. The motorcycle driver, Keith Henderson, 57, Pittsburgh, PA, and the passenger,  Jennifer Taylor, 49, Pittsburgh, PA, both sustained minor injuries. They were wearing helmets.

 

At 11:25 a.m., Interstate 90, mile marker 196, four miles east of Murdo: Rickie Weerheim, 67, Lead, S.D., was driving a 2004 Chevy Malibu westbound when he lost control. The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled several times. Weerheim suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital in Pierre. He was wearing a seatbelt.

 

At 1:29 p.m., U.S. Highway 14A, mile marker 18, nine miles west of Spearfish: Charles Epperson, 40, Broken Bow, NE, was driving a motorcycle when he lost control. Both he and the passenger, Kerrie Bepristis, 41, North Platte, NE, suffered serious non-life threatening injuries.  Epperson was wearing a helmet. Bepristis was not.

 

At 5:59 p.m., Nemo Road and Vanocker Canyon Road, 17 miles south of Sturgis: Paul Scofield, 30, Greenwood Village, CO, was driving a motorcycle when he lost control. Both he and the passenger, Jenna Torgerson, 29, Fort Collins, CO, received minor injuries. Scofield was not wearing a helmet; unknown if Torgerson was a helmet.
