PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation, on behalf of Mellette County and SFC Civil Constructors, says an informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 17, regarding the White River bridge project on Stamford Road.

The meeting will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. MDT at the Mellette County courthouse, located at 321 East 4th St. in White River. The public is invited to attend.

The bridge replacement project is located approximately four miles south of Interstate 90 Exit 172. The contractor anticipates removal of the old bridge to begin on Aug. 22, 2016, at which time the road will be closed to all traffic.

Mellette County representatives will discuss the upcoming road closure and present the current project schedule during this meeting.

The road closure will be in effect until the new bridge is completed in the spring of 2017, depending on weather conditions this upcoming fall and winter.
