South Dakota Working for a Win in Vegas at Annual SHOT Show
PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) will return to Las Vegas, Nev., later this month to promote the state at the annual Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show, Jan. 17-20. The GOED delegation is joined by representatives from six South Dakota communities: Britton/Glacial Lakes Area Development, Lead-Deadwood, Madison, Rapid City, Sturgis and Yankton.
“The SHOT industry continues to evolve, which makes South Dakota a prime contender for companies to consider as they expand and grow,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “The SHOT Show is a great venue for us, too. It seems like everyone has a South Dakota hunting story they want to share with us when they stop by our booth. It’s the perfect way to start a discussion about doing business here.”
The SHOT Show is the largest and most comprehensive trade show for professionals in the industry. It features more than 1,600 exhibitors filling booth space covering nearly 13 acres, and attracts more than 64,000 industry professionals from all 50 states and 100 countries.
“The opportunity to serve as part of a top-notch delegation at the SHOT Show is always rewarding and gives me a renewed sense of pride in our state,” said Julie Gross, executive director, Lake Area Improvement Corporation in Madison. “Our excellent business climate and high business rankings make it easy to talk to prospective business owners who would like to expand or relocate to South Dakota.”
