Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s Public Commitments; Public Meetings:

 

Saturday, June 3, 10 a.m. MDT, Rapid City – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will serve as the commencement speaker for the National American University 75th Commencement Ceremony at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, Rapid City.

 

Tuesday, June 6, Sturgis Sturgis will be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day. Activities for the day will include a Main Street walk, tours around Sturgis and a roundtable meeting.  At 10 a.m. MDT citizens are encouraged to attend the community social being held at H-D Plaza, where they will have the chance to talk one-on-one with Gov. Dennis Daugaard. First Lady Linda Daugaard will read at the City Park at 11 a.m.

 

Friday, June 9, 9:45 a.m. CDT, Sioux Falls – Governor Dennis Daugaard will be a guest on KXRB with Jerry Dahmen in Sioux Falls. The station is celebrating 37 years of the “I Love Life” show.

 

Friday, June 9, 8:15 a.m. CDT, Sioux Falls – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the Statewide Mentor Program Summer Academy at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. This professional development event marks the culmination of the first year of the Statewide Mentor Program, which was established as part of the 2016 education package.

 

Tuesday, June 6, 3 p.m. CDT, Aberdeen – Lt. Gov. Matt Michels will speak at the grand opening of the new Boys and Girls Club facility in Aberdeen.

Thursday, June 8, to Friday, June 9, Oacoma – Beginning June 8 at 1 p.m. CDT, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks’ (GFP) Commission will meet at Cedar Shores Resort in Oacoma. A public hearing will begin at 2 p.m. CDT discussing the finalizations of May’s meeting. The GFP Commission serves as the advocate and liaison between the department and its stakeholders – the people of South Dakota. The Commission meets monthly (except for February and August) and consists of eight members; which are appointed by the Governor for four year terms.
