Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s Public Commitments; Public Meetings:

 

Thursday, Aug. 31, 10 a.m. CDT, Huron – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at two state fair events: the Century Farms and Ranches Recognition program at 10 a.m.; and the Salute to Veterans program at 10:30 a.m. Both programs are being held at the Northwestern Freedom Stage. SDDVA Secretary Larry Zimmerman will also speak at the veterans ceremony. Thursday is also Military Appreciation Day at the Fair and all veterans and active military personnel get in free all day. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2 p.m. CDT, Brookings – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the South Dakota State University Plant Science Research Support Facility Grand Opening at South Dakota State University.

 

Thursday, Aug. 31, 4 p.m. CDT, Brookings – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the groundbreaking for the expansion of the State Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratory at South Dakota State University.

 

Monday, Aug. 28, 1 p.m. MDT – The South Dakota Board of Barber Examiners will hold a public hearing meeting via teleconference to consider the adoption and amendment of proposed rules 20:39:02:04, 20:39:03:01 to 20:39:03:06, inclusive, 20:39:04:01 to 20:39:04:03, inclusive, and 20:39:05:02. Public meeting space is available at the Board office, 629 Main St., Spearfish. A regular business meeting will immediately follow the public hearing. Monday, Aug. 28, 3 p.m. CDT – The South Dakota Board of Regents Building Committee for the DSU Madison Cyber Labs will meet by teleconference with the purpose of approving the Facility Design Plan for the project. Wednesday, Aug. 30 – The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation will host Job Search Assistance Programs (JSAP). JSAP is a workshop for people recovering from job loss or enhancing their job search skills. Trained instructors speak on modern-day techniques used to successfully find employment. Topics covered are: resume and cover letter writing, interviewing etiquette, networking effectively, using social media and much more. JSAP will be offered at the following locations:
