Ruff Tough Approved for REDI Fund Loan, Expanding and Adding Jobs

TEA, S.D. – Roto Mold, LLC., dba Ruff Tough Kennels, based in Tea, South Dakota, announced today its recent approval for a REDI (Revolving Economic Development and Initiative) Fund loan. The Board of Economic Development approved the loan during the November 2017 board meeting. Ruff Tough says the approved funds went toward the purchase of a 10,000 square-foot facility it will use as warehouse storage and shipping prep.

“Ruff Tough Kennels is a very entrepreneurial and innovative small business,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “Their products are well known and trusted by pet owners from near and far. We’re proud they call South Dakota ‘home.’”

Doug Sangl, co-owner, says Ruff Tough already moved into the new facility and hired two additional employees. Sangl says he continues to utilize state programs because of the opportunities it affords him and his employees.

“We’ve been doing this for more than 15 years, and our partnership with the State of South Dakota has equated to more growth and success than we could’ve imagined,” Sangl said. “From funding that helped us purchase new equipment to funding that helped us purchase a larger facility, we’ve found that working with GOED (Governor’s Office of Economic Development) means an investment in our future and I look forward to the next time we can utilize their services.”

Ruff Tough’s kennels are available in Scheels and ACE Hardware locations around the country, as well as other suppliers internationally.
