PIERRE, S.D. – Today is the deadline for partisan candidates to file nominating petitions for the June 5, 2018 Primary election. Candidates may also send their nominating petitions via registered mail by 5:00 p.m. local time to the county auditor for county races or the Secretary of State’s office for Legislative and Statewide races.

The deadline for Independent candidates to file nominating petitions for the November 6, 2018 General election is April 24, 2018.

For a list of candidates who have filed nominating petitions that have been validated for the Primary and General elections visit the Secretary of State’s website at www.sdsos.gov and click on “2018 Candidate List.”
