Name Released in Faulk County Fatal Crash

What:    Motorcycle crash

Where:  U.S. Highway 212, mile marker 293

               Two miles west of Zell, S.D.

When:    3:49 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018

Driver: Joseph Finck, 55, Griffith, IN, Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2016 Harley Davidson FLHT

ZELL, S.D. – An Indiana man has been identified as the person who died Tuesday in a motorcycle crash west of Zell.  

Joseph Finck of Griffith, IN, was driving a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on U.S. Highway 212 when it drifted off the road and entered the north ditch.

The 55-year-old driver was wearing a helmet, but the investigation indicated that the helmet came off when the motorcycle crashed. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
