State Prison Inmate Jeremy LaPlante In Custody

YANKTON, S.D.- A state prison inmate is back in custody.

Inmate Jeremy LaPlante was reported missing from his work release jobsite in Yankton earlier today. The employer also reported a company vehicle was missing. Staff at the Yankton Community Work Center began escape procedures.

LaPlante was apprehended by the Highway Patrol Sunday afternoon. He is currently being held in the Minnehaha County Jail.

LaPlante, age 44, is currently serving a 5 year, 5 month sentence from Grant County for DWI 6th offense.
