Name Released in Bon Homme County Fatal Crash

When: 9:28 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019
Driver: Isabelle Plath, 21, Yankton, S.D., Fatal Injuries
Vehicle: 1990 Chevy CG21305 Van
SCOTLAND, S.D. – A 21-year-old female from Yankton, S.D., has been identified as the person who died Thursday night when her vehicle collided with a Burlington Northern railroad train near Scotland.
A 1990 Chevy CG21305 was northbound on South Dakota Highway 25 when the vehicle collided with the train. Isabelle Plath, who was the driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the only person involved.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
