ALDI to join list of online options for SNAP recipients

PIERRE – On Tuesday, January 12, ALDI grocery stores will join the list of online grocery shopping options for recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in South Dakota.

The online option allows SNAP recipients to use their Electronic Benefit Transaction (EBT) card to make online food purchases at authorized SNAP retailers. Currently, that includes Walmart and Amazon.

“Anything that simplifies the use of our programs is a positive for the people we serve,” said DSS Cabinet Secretary Laurie Gill.  “The addition of another retailer gives SNAP recipients in South Dakota a third online option for buying the food they need.”

ALDI has three store locations in South Dakota – all in Sioux Falls.
