Inmates Gaige McCune, Anthony McDonald placed on escape status
YANKTON, S.D.- Two minimum-security state prison inmates have been placed on escape status.
Inmates Gaige McCune and Anthony McDonald left their work release jobsite in Yankton without authorization March 29. They failed to return to the Yankton Community Work Center at the appointed time.
McCune, age 25, is a white male. He is 5-feet-7 inches tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. McCune is serving a sentence for second-degree burglary out of Brown County.
McDonald, age 21, is a white male. He is 6-feet tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. McDonald is serving sentences for receiving/transferring a stolen vehicle, third-degree burglary, grand theft and DWI third offense from Minnehaha County and possession of a controlled substance from Clay County.
Failure to return to custody following an assignment or temporary leave granted for a specific purpose or limited period constitutes second-degree escape, a Class 5 felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
