Name Released In Ziebach County Fatal Crash
What: One-Vehicle Crash
Where: South Dakota Highway 20, mile marker 113
30 miles east of Bison, S.D.
When: 7:25 a.m., July 23, 2022
Driver: Nathan Bootz, 31, Lemmon, S.D., Fatal Injuries
Vehicle: 2001 Chevrolet C3500 Service Truck
BISON, S.D. – A 31-year-old man from Lemmon has been identified as the person who died early last Saturday in a one-vehicle crash east of Bison.
Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2001 Chevrolet C3500 service truck was westbound on South Dakota Highway 20 when the driver, Nathan Bootz, failed to negotiate a left curve. The vehicle overturned and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
