Article Body

PIERRE, S.D. – Four South Dakota Perkins Reserve and two South Dakota Workforce Education Grants have been awarded to South Dakota public school districts. Together, the six grants total $601,550.45.

The grants are designed to help school districts modernize their Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, expand hands-on learning opportunities, and align curriculum with high-demand careers. The projects funded this year reflect a strong commitment to equipping students with real-world skills that meet the needs of South Dakota’s workforce.

“These grants are more than investments in equipment,” said Secretary of Education Joe Graves. “They’re investments in the future of our students, our economy, and our communities. By supporting hands-on learning and industry-aligned training, we’re preparing South Dakota students to thrive in high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand careers.”
