Thursday, Aug. 28 celebrates 26 years of partnership with Value Added Ag Center, where attendees can learn about the benefits of value-added agriculture in South Dakota. Fairgoers will discover exciting products and connect directly with the farmers, ranchers, and specialty producers who are transforming raw agricultural goods into new value-added opportunities. Attendees can also network with representatives from federal, state, and local agencies and associations that support South Dakota agriculture. Throughout the day, enjoy engaging spotlight talks and delicious local food demonstrations, and be sure to stop by for our always-popular annual ice cream social!

Friday, Aug. 29 is Olympic Motors Day. Make sure to stop by Olympic Motors (formerly Prostrollo Motors) on East Highway 14 in Huron to pick up a coupon for $2 off daily gate admission at the State Fair. Events at the NorthWestern Energy Freedom Stage kick off at 1 p.m.; listen in on the panel discussion titled “Who Pays the Bill? South Dakota's Property Tax Crossroads,” followed by the Farm Safety FFA Quiz Bowl Championship.
