SPRINGFIELD, S.D.— State prison offender Eugene Johnson has died.

Johnson, age 65, passed away August 28 in a comfort care setting at Mike Durfee State Prison in Springfield.

At the time of his death, Johnson was serving a sentence for distribution of a controlled substance out of Yankton County.
