State prison offender Timothy Tyree has died.

Tyree, age 46, was found unresponsive in his bed at the Mike Durfee State Prison in Springfield on November 17th. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he passed away.

Tyree was serving a sentence for possession of a controlled substance from Minnehaha County at the time of his death.

The Division of Criminal Investigation and the Department of Corrections Office of the Inspector General are investigating the death.
