New Apprenticeship Knowledge Series
PIERRE, SD – The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation is launching its new Apprenticeship Knowledge Series, a monthly webinar series covering a range of apprenticeship-related topics.
The Apprenticeship Knowledge Series is designed to increase awareness and understanding of Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) by highlighting their value as a workforce strategy and offering education on what it means to be an apprenticeship sponsor and how to get started.
Throughout 2026, monthly 30-minute sessions will focus on different apprenticeship topics, providing practical information for employers, education partners, community stakeholders, and current registered apprenticeship sponsors.
The first three sessions will focus on Youth Apprenticeships. The first session will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 11:30 a.m. CST/10:30 a.m. MST via Microsoft Teams. Attendees will learn about youth labor law exemptions and the benefits of youth apprenticeship programs for both employers and young workers.
Registration is required. Visit tinyurl.com/dlr-workshops and select the calendar listing for the event.
