The South Dakota Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (SD EPSCoR) and South Dakota Board of Regents (SDBOR) are proud to co-sponsor the 2026 South Dakota Student Research Poster Session in the Rotunda of the State Capitol on Monday, February 23, 2026.

This annual event, now in its 29th year, showcases cutting-edge research in South Dakota higher education. The student projects highlight a variety of disciplines, demonstrating creativity and dedication in tackling challenging work education. Research involvement requires initiative beyond the classroom, fostering problem-solving skills and expertise. Actively involved students become more productive professionals and engaged citizens, regardless of their career paths.

This year, ten students from the six regental institutions and tribal colleges are being honored in Pierre, SD, with this special opportunity. These students are supported by SD EPSCoR, South Dakota Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (SD BRIN), and their own institutions. Their displays highlight the state’s investments in research and research collaborations among campuses.

This event, which brings together students, legislators, and the public, is a positive step towards promoting the interactions necessary for strong research in South Dakota's higher education.
