SD State Fairgrounds to Host National Red Power Show Next Week
HURON, S.D. – South Dakota Red Power Chapter 21 welcomes all International Harvester collectors, vendors and the general public to the 2014 National Red Power Round Up on June 26-28 at the SD State Fairgrounds in Huron.
“We are proud to host the National Red Power Round Up,” commented Jerome Hertel, SD State Fair director. “We have the perfect venue for it and look forward to showing off our grounds to people from all over the U.S. This show has been several years in the making and people have been working hard to make sure the State Fairgrounds, community of Huron and SD Red Power Chapter 21 put on the best National Red Power Show yet.”
The 25th Annual Red Power Roundup is remarkable in many ways. It’s the 25th annual celebration for people from all around the world to gather and see the history of International Harvester and agriculture-related memorabilia. Along with an impressive selection of tractors, engines, trucks and equipment, attendees can browse exhibits which include household appliances, milking equipment and toy collections. This is a unique and rare opportunity for the people of South Dakota to see how American agriculture was shaped.
Other Round Up highlights include a ranch rodeo, flea market, entertainment in the Midway Roadhouse and NorthWestern Energy Freedom Stage, quilt trunk show and contest, kids’ activities, steak and chicken feed, special presentations from Rodney Miller, owner and host of “Small Town Big Deal” television show, daily parade and much more.
