Ways to Save Money at the State Fair

HURON, S.D. – The State Fair offers a wide variety of events and exhibits over its five day run and there are several ways for fairgoers to save money.

Grandstand entertainment tickets purchased through Wednesday, Sept. 2, include free gate admission. On Thursday, Sept. 3, all veterans and active military members receive free gate admission.

Friday, Sept. 4, stop by Prostrollo Motors on east Highway 14 in Huron to pick up a Prostrollo’s Rockin’ Rollback coupon. Coupons are valid on Friday, Sept. 4, for $1 off gate admission. Bring the other half of the coupon to the Prostrollo’s Building where you can sign up to win meet and greet passes to the grandstand.

Monday, Sept. 7, guests can donate a non-perishable food item at any gate between 7 a.m. – 10 a.m. to receive $2 off their gate admission. All donations will support Feeding South Dakota. Also on Monday, Sept. 7, fairgoers can dress up like Colonel Sanders and receive free gate admission! The Colonel Sanders costume must include white pants, white suit coat and a tie.

There are also plenty of ways to save money at the carnival throughout the week. The Weekly Passport to Fun pass offers admission to the carnival for all five days of the fair. Advanced passes can be purchased at Prostrollo Motors through Sept. 5 until 5 p.m. for just $52. Big Jim 93.3 and Dairy Queen of Huron are also offering a $3 off coupon for weekday ride wristbands. Coupons can be picked up at Dairy Queen of Huron.
