PIERRE, S.D. – Officials say Interstate 90 westbound has been reopened and motorists are advised a South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper will direct traffic onto County Road 14-16 at exit 84 until crews can get a lane open to go around the remaining crashed semi.

I-90 westbound was closed earlier today from Exit 110 to Exit 78.

Visibility in the west is improving, but roads are still icy and motorists are reminded to slow down, turn off cruise and alter travel plans as necessary until the storm moves out of the state.

Check safetravelusa.com/sd or call 5-1-1 before heading out as there have been several No Travel Advisories posted at regular intervals and the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a blizzard warning for the northeastern part of the state. Using the navigation on the right of the safetravelusa.com/sd page, you can also check the radar, wind speeds and temperature.

Drivers of high-profile vehicles need to exercise extra caution across the state with sustained winds of 25-40 mph in most areas along with gusts upwards of 50 mph according to the NWS.
