Department of Transportation & Lincoln County Seek Public Input into Lincoln County Master Transportation Plan Study

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with Lincoln County and theSioux Falls MPO, will hold a public open house as part of the Lincoln County Master Transportation Plan. This open house public meeting will be held on July 8, 2019, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Commons of Harrisburg Liberty Elementary School (200 E. Willow Street in Harrisburg). The School requests that you use the East Entrance, Door E.


The Lincoln County Master Transportation Plan study will address a full range of transportation options and issues, including pedestrian, bicycle, transit, freight, and automobile. The purpose of the open house is to inform the public of the study’s findings and draft recommendations and to record any concerns the public may have on those findings and recommendations.


For those who cannot attend the meeting or desire additional information on the study, information will be made available online after the meeting at www.lincolncountytransportationplan.com.


The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Liberty Elementary. A brief, summarizing presentation will be made at approximately 5:45 p.m, followed by an open house discussion with SDDOT, county, and consultant staff. The opportunity to present written comments will be provided. Written comments will be accepted until July 22, 2019. The presentation is also planned to be shown at approximately 10:00 a.m. during the July 9th Lincoln County Commission Meeting held at the Lincoln County Courthouse (104 North Main Street, Suite 120 in Canton). The County Commission Meeting begins at 8:30 a.m.


Notice is further given to individuals with disabilities that this open house/public meeting is being held in a physically accessible place.
