For Immediate Release: Monday, July 15, 2019

Contact: Travis Dressen, (605) 367-5680

SIOUX FALLS, SD – The South Dakota Department of Transportation will place traffic in a two-way condition in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 near exit 402 on Tuesday, July 16.

The contractor will be setting new bridge girders over the eastbound lanes to allow for continual construction on the new Interstate 90 and Veteran’s Parkway Interchange.

Traffic is anticipated to be restored back to their respective lanes Thursday, July 18. Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing, merging or stopped traffic and should plan extra time to reach your destination when travelling through the work zone.

The eastbound on and off ramps at Exit 402 remain closed as the westbound on ramp remains open to allow for business access only. Both eastbound and westbound traffic wanting to go north on County Road 121 will be directed to use Highway 115, County Road 130, and Highway 11.

The interchange is scheduled to be open to traffic by the substantial completion date of Oct.18, 2019, with an overall completion date for the project of Aug. 28, 2020.

The prime contractor on this $55.6 million project is Riley Brothers Construction, of Morris, Minnesota.
