Brown County Fatal Crash


What:    One-Vehicle Fatal Crash

Where:  132nd Street and 378th Avenue

              Seven miles west of Aberdeen, S.D.

When:   11:42 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019


Occupant:  Male, 34, Serious Non-Life Threatening Injuries

Occupant: Male, 37, Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2014 Polaris Ranger 900XP



ABERDEEN, S.D. – One person died and another person was injured late Sunday night in a single-vehicle rollover crash seven miles west of Aberdeen.


Names of the two males involved are not being released at this time pending notification of family members. They were the only people involved.


A 2014 Polaris Ranger 900XP four-wheeler was northbound on 378th Avenue, which is a gravel road. The driver lost control turning onto 132nd Street, causing the vehicle to roll.


It is unknown at this time who was driving the vehicle. A 37-year-old male occupant was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant, a 34-year-old male, suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an Aberdeen hospital.


Seatbelt use by the two occupants is under investigation.


South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is preliminary at this time,
