Flags at Half-Staff on Friday, June 19, to Honor Sioux Falls Fire Captain Kendall Ward

PIERRE, S.D. – Governor Kristi Noem today ordered that flags be flown at half-staff statewide from sunrise until sundown on Friday, June 19, 2020, in honor of Sioux Falls Fire Captain Kendall Ward, who passed away after battling cancer.

 

According to the International Association of Firefighters, “Cancer continues to be the leading cause of death among firefighters.” Captain Ward’s funeral will be held in Sioux Falls on June 19th, and his name will be placed on the Firefighter Memorial in Colorado Springs, CO.

 

WHAT: Gov. Noem orders flags flown at half-staff statewide in honor of Sioux Falls Fire Captain Kendall Ward.

WHEN: Friday, June 19, 2020, from sunrise until sundown.
