DANR Announces $176,250 in Grants for Solid Waste Projects
PIERRE, S.D. – Today, the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) announced the Board of Water and Natural Resources has approved $176,250 in grants for solid waste projects.
The grants approved by the board will be administered through the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Grants were awarded to:
- Roberts County, $114,250 for landfill improvements
- Brookings, $62,000 to complete a solid waste master plan
The grants were awarded from DANR’s Solid Waste Management Program. The Solid Waste Management Program provides grants and loans for solid waste disposal, recycling, and waste tire projects. The Legislature annually appropriates dedicated water and waste funding for the Consolidated and Solid Waste programs through the Governor’s Omnibus Water Funding Bill.
The board met today in Pierre.
