 Name Released In Charles Mix County Fatal Crash


What:    One-Vehicle Crash

Where:  Near Intersection of 382nd Avenue and 290th Street

              Two miles north of Lake Andes, S.D.

When:   8:44 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021


Driver: Paul Nowak, 40, Armour, S.D., Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup


LAKE ANDES, S.D. –  An Armour, S.D., man has been identified as the person who died Sunday night in a one-vehicle crash north of Lake Andes.


Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was southbound on 382nd Avenue when it went into the west ditch and struck a field approach.


Paul Nowak, the 40-year-old driver, was transported to a Wagner hospital where he later died. He was not wearing a seat belt. He was the only occupant.


South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.


The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
