Lincoln County Fatal Crash




What:    One-Vehicle Crash

Where:  Intersection of 274th Street and 480th Avenue

              Six miles west of Harrisburg, S.D.

When:   6:35 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, 2022


Driver: Male, 62, Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew Pickup


HARRISBURG, S.D. –  One person died Friday night in a one-vehicle crash west of Harrisburg.


The name of the person involved has not yet been released pending notification of family members.  


Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew pickup was southbound on 480th Avenue when the driver lost control proceeding eastbound on a curve onto 274th Street. The vehicle went into the ditch and eventually rolled.


The 62-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.


South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.


The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
